21 Students Attending CBEC on Endowed Scholarships

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 24, 2005ᾰTwenty-one students have been awarded endowed scholarships at the Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) for the fall 2005 semester. 

Eleven students are attending the CBEC on the Jean Provance Memorial Scholarship.  They are Christian Raschke, a political science major from Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Kyle Brown of Malden, Mo.; Faye Sanders, a middle school education major from Bloomfield, Mo.; Christina Saenz, an elementary education major from Portageville, Mo.; Karen Crane, a social work major from Campbell, Mo.; Tammy Tripp, a business administration major from Portageville, Mo.; April Berry, an early childhood education major from Dexter, Mo.; Stefanie Cryts, a business administration major from Malden, Mo.; Judy Faulk, a general studies major from Portageville, Mo.; Beverly Hampton, a middle school education major from Malden, Mo.; and Traci Boyle, an elementary education major from Malden, Mo.  Recipients must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at the CBEC, have a 3.0 grade point average, and have verified financial needs.

Five students are attending the CBEC this fall on the Opal A. Baskin Endowed Scholarship.  They are Lisa Henry, a middle school education major from Bernie, Mo.; Janie Jones, an elementary education major from Malden, Mo.; Julie Jackson, an early childhood education major from Dudley, Mo.; Karla Laws of Dexter Mo.; and Angie Hilfiker, an elementary education major from Malden, Mo.  Recipients must be currently enrolled in classes at the CBEC, maintain a 2.5 grade point average, and have verified financial needs.

Three students are also attending the CBEC this fall on the Crisp Bootheel General Education Scholarship.  They are Cindy Litchfield, an elementary education major from Dexter, Mo., Laura Pavy, an elementary education major from Parma, Mo., and Brandi Meese, an elementary major from Bernie, Mo.

“Spring scholarships will be available for students who wish to apply,” said Lisa Webb, academic advisor at the CBEC.  “Students should be sure to contact the office and have their information submitted by December 1.”
