Addressing the Heroin/Opiate Epidemic in Your Community’ Workshop Being Offered on Campus

rsclogoA free workshop titled “Addressing the Heroin/Opiate Epidemic in Your Community” is being offered by the Southeast Regional Support Center Nov. 30 from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. Juan Wilson from the City of St. Louis’ Drug Enforcement Administration will speak on the heroin and opiate epidemic. Wilson is a dedicated law enforcement officer who is engaged in his community. Working with his group, Branded Stigma, he aims to be a facilitator for change in the law enforcement and addiction community by educating, advocating, and providing awareness to remove the negative stigma surrounding substance use.

Additionally, state Representatives Holly Rehder and Tila Hubrecht will speak on state legislation and how it impacts our communities, specifically concerning substance use.
