CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Oct. 31, 2006 – Alpha Phi Omega is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive Nov. 14-17 on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
Those who wish to donate blood may do so from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 14-17 in the University Center. All donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
The American Red Cross says the need for blood is ongoing but that blood is especially necessary in preparation for winter months when donations traditionally decline.
In Missouri, healthy individuals who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood. Federal regulations require whole blood donors to wait 56 days between donations. Platelet donors can donate as many as 24 times a year. To schedule a blood donation appointment, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or visit www.americanredcrossblood.org.
