Alpha Xi Delta Scholarship Established at Southeast

The Alpha Xi Delta Scholarship has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.

Lisa Grimes of St. Louis, Missouri, made a generous gift to establish the scholarship. Her Alpha Xi Delta alumni sisters joined her in the effort with additional donations, making the total eligible for a $3,400 match from the Foundation as part of its Greek scholarship matching gift program. All past, present and future alumni from Southeast’s Alpha Xi Delta chapter are encouraged to continue to contribute to this scholarship fund.

The renewable scholarship will be awarded to full-time Southeast junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.  Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. The University Scholarship Committee in conjunction with Alpha Xi Delta alumni and the Office of Greek Life will select the recipient.

The Alpha Xi Delta scholarship was established by Lisa Toarmina Grimes, a 1981 Southeast alumna and member of Alpha Xi Delta. After graduating from Southeast Missouri State, Grimes attended St. Louis University School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor in 1987. Grimes is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel – Real Estate at RGA Reinsurance Company where she manages the attorneys responsible for supporting RGA’s commercial mortgage lending and real estate finance and investment entities. She has also served as a member of the board of directors of Gateway Housing First, a non-profit corporation dedicated to the creation and development of housing for individuals with disabilities and special needs.
