American Red Cross Holding Blood Drive at Malden Sept. 9

MALDEN, Mo., Sept. 4, 2008 – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Sept. 9 at Southeast Missouri State University – Malden.

Donors interested in helping to maintain an adequate blood supply may donate from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Bootheel Education Center in Malden, Mo.

Healthy individuals who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood. Sixteen-year-olds with written permission from a parent or guardian are also eligible to donate. Federal regulations require whole blood donors to wait 56 days between donations.
