CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 16, 2012 – The “Annual Juried Student Exhibition” will be displayed March 30 to April 22 at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.
The exhibition showcases the creative talents of the students taking classes in the Department of Art at Southeast.
The public is invited to attend an opening reception from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 30. Admission is free. Awards will be presented in the following categories: 2D Color/Design Foundations, 3D Foundations, Graphic Design/Illustration, Digital Arts, Ceramics, Fibers, Printmaking, Painting, Drawing and New Genre. Best in Show, Distinguished Merit Award and Purchase Awards also will be presented.
This is a significant show for Southeast students, showcasing selected works that have been created within the past year. Many of the works on view will be available for purchase.
This year’s juror is fiber artist Becky Grass, who holds a master of fine arts from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and her BFA from Southeast Missouri State University. Grass has an extensive exhibition record as well as in publications such as Fiberarts and Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot magazines. Grass is currently teaching at Southeast Missouri State University and St. Louis University.
The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, Mo.
