CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 2, 2008 — The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Art will present its Annual Art Student Juried Art Exhibition April 4-25 in the River Campus Art Gallery in the Seminary Building at Southeast’s River Campus.
An opening reception is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the Seminary Building Room 106. Admission is free.
This exhibit features work produced by students enrolled in Southeast’s Department of Art. Student work from each studio area will be featured in the show, including two-dimensional design and color, three-dimensional design, drawing, graphic design and illustration, digital arts, painting, printmaking, fibers, ceramics, sculpture and new genre.
This year’s juror is Pattie Chalmers, assistant professor, ceramics, at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Awards will be presented to exhibiting student artists, including the Best-of-Show Award, Distinguished Merit Award, Merit Awards and Honorable Mention Awards in each studio area. The awards presentation will begin at 5 p.m. April 4.
