Tonight's Annual Hamblin Lecture Features University of Mississippi Professor

Southeast Missouri State University will present the Robert W. Hamblin Lecture, “Animals at the Table: Making Meat in the Early Modern World,” given by Dr. Karen Raber, professor of English at the University of Mississippi, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18. The lecture will take place in Ballroom A of the University Center. Raber is the author of 'Animal Bodies, Renaissance Culture.'  Her scholarly interests involve animal studies and ecocriticism. She has edited and written many works that have been featured in 'Early Modern Ecostudies: From Shakespeare to the Florentine Codex,' 'Ornamentalizing the Renaissance' and 'A Cultural History of Animals.' The event is free and open to the public.
