Kevin J. Maddock International Studies Scholarship Established at Southeast
06/01/2017

The Kevin J. Maddock International Studies Scholarship has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. Nicholas K. Maddock of New York, New York, made a $10,000 gift to establish the award.  The renewable scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled at Southeast with a minimum 2.50 grade point average. Applicants must be approved for or seeking an international study experience to receive this scholarship. Preference will be given to applicants who want to study abroad but have financial constraints preventing them from doing so. The International Business Program in the Harrison College of Business in consultation with Dr. Willie Redmond will select the recipient. Nicholas K. Maddock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University in the spring of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in finance and management, entrepreneurship option. He served in several leadership roles during his tenure at Southeast, including Student Government treasurer, Interfraternity Council president, Finance and Economics Society president, director of Greek Week 2013, a three-year Resident Assistant and several leadership positions in his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. Maddock has created this scholarship to encourage and support Southeast students who hope to participate in an international study experience because of the extent to which international travel at Southeast Missouri State University shaped his life. The scholarship has been named in memory of his father, Kevin J. Maddock, who played a pivotal role in encouraging Nick to travel and see the world.
