Author Visiting Southeast March 29 to Address Racism on College Campuses

blackballedCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 21, 2016 – The author of the book “Blackballed: The Black and White Politics of Race on America’s Campuses” is scheduled to speak March 29 at Southeast Missouri State University.

Lawrence Ross will discuss racism on college campuses over the last few decades, how to have hard conversations that address racism on campuses and solutions moving forward.

The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Academic Hall Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

“Mr. Ross’ presentation will be very beneficial to all,” said DeAnte Smith, director of Greek Life at Southeast.

Copies of Ross’ book are available for purchase at Southeast Bookstore.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Greek Life, Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity, Student Government Association, the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Residence Hall Association.
