Sept. 8, 2009 – Lambda Chi Alpha is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive Sept. 14-18 at Southeast Missouri State University.
The drive will take place in the University Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14-16 and Sept. 18. The hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 17.
To avoid waiting in line, donors are encouraged to make blood donation appointments by calling1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visiting www.givelife.org.
Healthy individuals who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood. Sixteen-year-olds with written consent from a parent or guardian are also eligible to donate. Federal regulations require whole blood donors to wait 56 days between donations. Platelet donors can donate as many as 24 times a year. Donors should remember to bring positive identification, which they will be asked to present before donating.
