Book Donations Requested in Honor of Deceased “Llama Llama” Author

REG-Sikeston

Southeast’s University School for Young Children is sponsoring a book drive in honor of Anna Dewdney, the beloved author of the “Llama Llama” series of children’s books. On Sept. 3 Dewdney passed away after a long battle with brain cancer.

From Sept. 12-16, donate new or gently used children’s books in collection boxes at Scully Building Room 313 or the University School for Young Children, located at 2089 Bessie St. in Cape Girardeau. Additional donation boxes will be located throughout campus, so watch for them!

All books received will be given to the “Frank the Fighter Foundation,” which delivers care packages, including children’s books, to southeast Missouri families with children in neonatal intensive care units. The goal is 100 books!  For more information, contact Rebecca Moore, site director at the University School for Young Children, at ramoore@semo.edu.
