Brunnworth Named Director of Corporate Relations/Development with Southeast Missouri University Foundation

Sept. 28, 2009 – Nolan Brunnworth of Arnold, Mo., has been named director of corporate relations/ associate director of development with the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.

Brunnworth, who will begin his new duties Sept. 15, will be responsible for leading outreach efforts among the corporate community and Southeast alumni in the University’s service area for both Southeast Missouri State University and the Donald L. Harrison College of Business.  His efforts will be especially focused on the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Brunnworth will be housed at the University’s St. Louis Office, located in Suite 300 at 16020 Swingley Ridge Road in Chesterfield.

Brunnworth will plan, oversee, promote and evaluate a comprehensive corporate relations strategy for the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.  He will look to identify opportunities to connect corporations with departments and programs of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business.  His work also will focus on establishing a prospect pool, including corporations operating in the University’s service area, alumni executives, strategic partners and corporate foundations.

Brunnworth will plan, execute and evaluate donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies among alumni, the Donald L. Harrison College of Business, and corporate and business leadership.  He will also serve as the Donald L. Harrison College of Business liaison to the Southeat Alumni Association, and will work to enhance relationships between St. Louis alumni and the College of Business.  He also will assist in promoting and planning alumni activities in the St. Louis area.

Brunnworth’s current role as St. Louis Career Specialist, which he has held for four years, operating out of Southeast’s St. Louis Outreach Office, focuses on building relationships with employers and alumni of the St. Louis metropolitan area.

“This work requires the ability to design and communicate a clear value proposition to businesses and organizations,” said Brunnworth.  “Developing buy-in with a variety of constituents is critical in order to increase awareness of Southeast within the highly competitive St. Louis market.”

Brunnworth previously held the positions of director of marketing and key account manager at Lawrence Paper Company in Lawrence, Kan.  These positions, he said, have served as a firm foundation on which to enhance his public relations skills and customer service.

Brunnworth is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers; Human Resource Management Association-St. Louis; St. Louis Corporate Planning Committee- Southeast Missouri State University; Chesterfield, Mo., Chamber of Commerce; and the St. Louis Personnel and Placement Directors Association.

Originally from St. Louis, Brunnworth graduated from Southeast in May 2000 with a bachelor of science degree in marketing management.  While at Southeast, he was active in the Marketing Club and tutored high school students in the Upward Bound program. In addition, he worked as a student manager at Southeast’s Student Recreation Center and participated in several intramural sports. Brunnworth currently is pursuing a master of business administration (MBA) through Southeast’s online MBA program.
