Cape Public Library Expansion Project, RSVP/VIP Volunteer Program, Vietnam War Topics of this Week’s ‘Going Public’

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 11, 2007 — David Briggs, instructor of history at Southeast Missouri State University, Betty Martin of Cape Girardeau’s Public Library, and Darlene Bradley, assistant director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program/Volunteer Intergenerational Program, will be the guests Jan. 14 on Southeast Public Radio’s “Going Public” program. Briggs will discuss his experiences in the Vietnam War and how it felt to return when his combat duty had ended.

Martin will explain the need for the Cape Girardeau Public Library expansion project.

Bradley will talk about the role of volunteers in the community and how RSVP/VIP can help people find a rewarding volunteer experience.
