CGPHE Renamed Cape College Center

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 6, 2014 – The Cape Girardeau Partnership for Higher Education (CGPHE) has been renamed Cape College Center.

The institution’s advisory council approved the new name at a meeting this morning after the presidents of the three partnering institutions – Southeast Missouri State University, Three Rivers College and Mineral Area College – recently agreed to the change.

Cape College Center is an open-enrollment higher education center offering associate degree programs in the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center, 1080 S. Silver Springs Road in Cape Girardeau. The Center provides community college-type services to the citizens of Cape Girardeau County and the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center service region.

“Everybody was pleased the three presidents could come to agreement,” said Dr. Gerald McDougall, associate provost for extended and online learning and dean of the Donald L. Harrison College of Business at Southeast Missouri State University. “We will now be able to more effectively promote and market the educational opportunities available through Cape College Center.”
