Children interested in musical theatre are invited to study singing, dancing and acting this fall, as Southeast Missouri State University celebrates families and togetherness.
The Children’s Theatre Workshop is for students in kindergarten-8 grade, and children of all levels of experience are encouraged to attend. Classes include physical and vocal warm-ups and character-building exercises. Students find their voice and gain self-confidence in this artistic environment.
The classes will run Saturdays from Oct. 21 through Nov. 18, and will be held in the acting and directing studio of the Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins River Campus Center. Snacks will be provided.
“These workshops provide opportunities for children to explore performance and learn about great musicals in a fun environment,” said Rhonda Weller-Stilson, director of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts and associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
Space is limited. The deadline to register is Oct. 16. The cost of each workshop is $150. To register, call (573) 651-2210 or register online at https://app.semo.edu/sfs/pymt/svpa/index.asp.
