CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Oct. 26, 2005 – The Southeast Missouri State University Choir and Cantus Choralis will present an eclectic program of vocal music at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 in Old St. Vincent’s Church.
Southeast’s fall choral concert, featuring the two premier ensembles, the University Choir and Cantus Choralis, will include very interesting early American music, with songs about frogs, dogs and weasels; “cold” musicᾰboth sacred and secularᾰto celebrate the spirit of the season; and a new composition for chamber choir by English composer Sasha Johnson Manning. Another original composition by Southeast’s own Robert Fruehwald also will be featured in this program. Both ensembles are under the direction of Steve Hendricks, director of choral activities and music education.
Tickets will be available at the door, but advanced tickets are available by calling the performing Arts Box Office at (573) 651-2265 or stopping by the lobby of the Forrest H. Rose Theatre. Tickets for the general public are $7, and students and seniors may receive discounts by getting their tickets in advance.
