Music Academy’s Suzuki Strings Performing with University Choir
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 5, 2010 — The University Choir and the Chamber Choir Cantus Choralis will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.
Featured music will be excerpts from Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers in celebration of its 400th anniversary and William Byrd’s “Sing Joyfully.” Other composers featured will be Samuel Barber, Charles Wood, Gabriel Faure and Sasha Johnson Manning.
Special guests will include the Southeast Missouri Music Academy’s Suzuki Strings who will perform with the University Choir in music of Schumann, Handel and von Weber.
