CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 20, 2008 – The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University has announced that Keri Clynes, a Southeast senior, has been named “Recreation Services Employee of the Month” for October. Clynes is the head lifeguard for the Student Aquatic Center.
The Employee of the Month award is given to student employees working with the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast. The award recognizes outstanding achievement with student employees and their ability to go beyond normal duties.
Clynes, of St. Peters, Mo., is a family and consumer science major. She will be doing her student teaching in Ireland in the spring of 2009. Her aspirations are to return to her hometown and teach and coach swimming full time. Clynes is active on campus in Gamma Phi Beta and Kappa Delta Pi.
“She has done a great job for us this fall,” stated Chad Sierman, assistant director for aquatics.
Clynes received a Recreation Services stadium blanket for her honor.
