College of Education Faculty Honored at Awards Banquet

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

May 8, 2006 – Four faculty members in the College of Education at Southeast Missouri State University were honored May 7 at the College’s annual awards banquet at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Dr. Robert Buchanan, associate professor of educational administration and counseling, received the Outstanding Service award.

Dr. Jerry Waddle, associate professor of educational administration and counseling, received the Outstanding Teaching award.

Dr. Julieta Monteiro-Leitner, assistant professor of educational administration and counseling, received the Outstanding Scholarship award.

Jeanine Larson Dobbins, coordinator, Missouri Statewide Early Literacy Intervention Program based at Southeast, received the Dean’s Award.

The recipients received a commemorative plaque and $500 to be used either for professional development or a cash stipend.
