Cooling-to-Heating Transition, Winter Weather Preparation Beginning in University Buildings

It’s that time of year again when the University transitions from cooling to heating. This change-over can lead to customer inquiries about buildings being too hot or too cold. Facilities Maintenance personnel have been working to shut down certain cooling systems and perform the proper maintenance to bring heating systems online.

We are working to ensure a seamless changeover, but weather variations may cause unanticipated fluctuations to interior temperatures as we progress through this transition. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we perform these necessary tasks.

In addition, Facilities will be shutting down all fountains at the Cape Girardeau and River campuses, with the exception of the Broadway/Henderson gateway fountains, to prepare them for the winter and complete any needed maintenance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor with Facilities Management, at (573) 651-2214.
