CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 7, 2014 — The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting MACHINEWORX, a four-day, summer academy for youth June 3-6.
Participants will experience a number of interesting and fun hands-on activities focusing on simple and complex machines. Topics include Leonardo da Vinci, rocketry, local inventors, historic and prehistoric machines. They academy also will include a fascinating field trip to Erlbacher Gear & Machine Works.
A morning session for ages 4-8 will be held from 9-11 a.m. Adult supervision is required for preschoolers. An afternoon session for youth ages 9-15 is scheduled for 1-4 p.m.
