Crisp Museum Hosts Watercolor Workshop

museum exteriorCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 31, 2016 – Registration is now open for a Watercolor Workshop Planned for May 6 and 7 in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The Watercolor Workshop for adults will take place from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. both days. Registration and a $15 refundable deposit are required. A supply list will be given at registration, and seating is limited.

The workshop will be taught by Daven Anderson, a self- described representational painter, whose work will be displayed at the Museum in conjunction with the workshop. The public is invited to attend his artist talk at 6 p.m. on May 5. An opening reception for his exhibit, “Daven Anderson: A Celebration of Life and Work on our Inland Waterways,” will be held from 4-8 p.m. May 6. The exhibit will remain on display through June 19. Admission is free.

Daven Anderson alternates his subject matter between urban settings and the culture of the waterways. His pieces show a wide range of and contrast and skilled use of color and fine detail in the right places.
