CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 17, 2004 — Numerous loads of pre-cast concrete loaded on tractor trailer trucks will begin being delivered to the construction site of the Multi-Modal Transfer Facility (MMTF) at Southeast Missouri State University starting Tuesday morning, Sept. 21.
The Multi-Modal Transfer Facility is being built north of New Madrid Street and west of the Student Recreation Center in Parking Lot No. 3 commonly referred to by students as “The Pig Lot.”
The tractor trailer trucks will be coming from North Sprigg Street, turning west onto Alumni Drive and moving through affected tiers of the overflow parking lot on the north side of the Show Me Center and the Student Recreation Center, said Beth Glaus, manager of parking and transit. Tiers not impacted by the deliveries will continue to be open for parking. Shuttles will continue to run on their normal schedules, she said.
The deliveries of pre-cast concrete will continue for a number of weeks. Facilities Management and the Department of Public Safety apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your patience during this period, Glaus said.
