Dexter Student Awarded BEC Advisory Council Scholarship

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

April 22, 2008 – Justin Hyten of Dexter, Mo., has been awarded the Bootheel Education Center (BEC) Advisory Council Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University-Malden for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The BEC Advisory Council Scholarship is a one-year Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) Incentive Scholarship valued at $4,500 and covers the cost of incidental, general and textbook rental fees for up to 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year at the Southeast regional campus.

Hyten is the son of Kenny and Sherry Busick of Dexter, Mo., and Ronnie and Shirley Hyten of Essex, Mo. He will be a 2008 graduate of Richland R-I High School. During his high school years, he has been first chair and vice president of band and secretary of Future Business Leaders of America.

He plans on majoring in psychology at Southeast.
