Faculty Piano Recital Slated for Sept. 11

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.

Aug. 22, 2003 –A faculty piano recital Sept. 11 by Dr. James Sifferman, Southeast associate professor of music, will kick off a new Faculty Showcase Series this year presented by the Department of Music at Southeast Missouri State University.

The recital is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 11 in Brandt Room 205.

Sifferman holds degrees from the University of Washington, The Julliard School and The University of Texas at Austin.  He has studied with such celebrated teachers as Bela Siki, Ania Dormann, John Perry and Gregory Allen. He has performed throughout the United States in solo and chamber music recitals and as a concerto soloist with orchestra. At his solo piano recital Sept. 11, Sifferman will perform works from enlightened masters such as Bach, Mozart, Liszt and Brahms.

Tickets will be sold in advance and are $7 for the general public; $6 for faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $5 for Southeast students who present an ID. All tickets will be $7 at the door. Call (573) 651-2265 for tickets.
