Fall Dance Concert to Provide Evening of Diverse Entertainment

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 5, 2004 — The Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will perform its Fall Dance Concert 2004 at 8 p.m. Nov. 18-20 in the Forrest H. Rose Theatre.

This year’s highly anticipated annual dance concert will be under the direction of new dance faculty members Leslie Miller and Kari Schroeder, who promise that the audience will be taken on a journey to a variety of high-energy places. From Big Band dance club to a Rave dance party, and then from a parody of a Spanish bull fight to a view of the absurdity of urban city life, audience members will be transported to a variety of places and awe-struck at the impact of spectacular music, imaginative costumes, expert lighting, and, above all, the fresh choreography with which the dancers propel all.

Dance styles will include tap, hip-hop, jazz, swing dance, ballet and more. All pieces will be choreographed and performed exclusively by Southeast faculty and students, including a special appearance by the extremely popular group, the Southeast Sundancers. The Fall Dance Concert will run for three nights and promises to be a sell-out affair. Concert goers are urged to get their tickets early to guarantee their seat for this exciting dance event.

Tickets are available by stopping by the Performing Arts Box Office in the lobby of the Rose Theatre or by calling (573) 651-2265. Ticket prices are $10 for the public, $9 for Southeast faculty/staff and senior citizens, and $8 for students of all ages. Discounts are available in advance only; all seats will be $10 at the door.
