Southeast’s Kevin Farley was named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Farley recorded three top-two finishes at the Memphis Tiger Invitational last week. Highlighting his weekend was his efforts in the hammer throw with a toss of of 64.42m (211’4″), setting a new personal best and breaking the school record he previously set last season (206’9″).
His throw currently ranks first in the OVC and 36th nationally.
Also last weekend, Farley finished first in the shot put with a mark of (59’8.25″) and placing second in the discus (176’8″).
The honor is Farley’s second of the season, previously winning the award on April 6 for his performance at the Southeast hosted Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invitational.
“Kevin is having a great senior season,” commented head coach Eric Crumpecker. “He is performing at a high level in all three of his events and I am looking forward to seeing how he finishes off this year.”
The Redhawks will return to action on Friday, May 6, at the Billy Hayes Outdoor Invitational hosted by Indiana University.
