First Friday with the Arts Free Shuttle Service Being Offered Nov. 6

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Nov. 2, 2009 – The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum and the ARound Town Art Members would like to once again thank the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau for sponsoring the free First Friday Art Shuttle from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 6.

The Art Shuttle is a free service provided to transport patrons to and from all participating ARound Town member galleries.  A schedule of pick-up times will be available at the participating locations during First Friday openings.  The shuttle service will pick up and transport visitors every half hour starting from the River Campus.   Exhibitions run for the entire month of November and are open from 5 to 9 p.m., unless stated otherwise.

“Around Town” is a collective network of artists, studios and galleries promoting interest in the arts and public awareness of the presentation of fine artistic venues. “First Friday” is a partnering of studios and galleries in Cape Girardeau in an effort to provide the city with a monthly arts venue. Many local art galleries have shows open on the first Friday of each month with local, regional and national artists displaying their artistic and diverse mediums. Several galleries provide light refreshments, and all visitors are encouraged to visit the studios and galleries during the monthly event.
