Free Powerpoint Workshops Being Offered for CBEC and KAHEC Students, Faculty, Staff

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Nov. 4, 2005 – Free Microsoft PowerPoint Workshops will be offered next week for Southeast Missouri State University students, faculty and staff members at the Harry L. Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) in Malden, Mo., and the Kennett Area Higher Education Center (KAHEC).

The workshop is scheduled for 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the CBEC and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at KAHEC, both on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

“This is an opportunity for them to get familiar with PowerPoint, to stimulate their interests and reduce their fears about using it,” said Martha Henckell, computer lab supervisor at Southeast Missouri State University, who will be teaching the workshop.

The workshop will be the first in a series of free computing seminars to be offered at the regional campuses over the next several months. Future events will focus on Microsoft Excel, Access and Publisher, and how to use the Internet to conduct research, Henckell said.
