Gary Miller Performing Faculty Recital Feb. 24 in Old St. Vincent’s Church

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 11, 2008 — Dr. Gary Miller, professor of music and interim director of the Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts at Southeast Missouri State University, will present a faculty organ recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, in Old St. Vincent’s Church in Cape Girardeau.

The recital will be performed on the 25-stop Schantz pipe organ installed in 2002, an instrument ideally suited to music from a variety of musical style periods.  The program will consist of works by lesser known composers including Mushel, Boulanger, Reger, Fanny Mendelssohn, Micheelsen, Diemer and Renaud, three of whom are women.
