CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Sept. 19, 2003 – Bradley Glenn of Scott City, Mo., and Brooks Kelly of Sikeston, Mo., have been awarded the Noranda Aluminum, Inc., Scholarship to attend the Sikeston Area Higher Education Center (SAHEC), a satellite campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The Noranda Aluminum, Inc., Scholarship, which is provided by Noranda Aluminum, Inc., of New Madrid, Mo., is awarded to a graduating high school senior in Scott, Mississippi, Stoddard or New Madrid counties, who is pursuing an associate of applied science degree in computer technology with an option in automated manufacturing. The award covers all incidental fees, books and other fees during the two-year degree program. Recipients also receive a paid internship during the summer.
Glenn graduated from Scott City High School in 2002 and is a recipient of the scholarship. He is now in his second year of the program. Having participated in an internship during the summer, Glenn has now been given a part-time job with Noranda. He has a grade point average (GPA) of 3.27.
Kelly graduated from Sikeston High School in 2002. He was recently awarded the scholarship and started the two-year degree program this fall. He has a GPA of 2.8 and is employed by Jennings Brothers Farms.
