Golf Tournament to Benefit Departmental Student Scholarships

 CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Aug. 20, 2004 – Alumni from the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation are sponsoring a golf tournament Sept. 25 with the proceeds to benefit scholarships for students in the department.

The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Cape Girardeau Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The tournament will be flighted and played in a four-person scramble format. Skins are included.

Cost is $50 per person or $200 per team, which covers a $20 tax-deductible donation, $30 for green fees, cart, food and non-alcoholic beverages. Prizes will be awarded.

The tournament is open to anyone who would like to participate, in addition to Health, Human Performance and Recreation alumni. Tournament organizers say they will make efforts to pair department alumni with other alumni from the Department. Organizers say the tournament will be fun, and offer opportunities to network and connect with friends.
