History of Bunker, Recent Parkland News Topics of ‘Going Public’

“Going Public” airs every Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. on 90.9 FM, KRCU, and 88.9 FM, KSEF.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

June 7, 2007 – The history of Bunker, Mo., and recent news from Parkland will be the topics June 10 on Southeast Public Radio’s “Going Public” program.

The first guest will be Dean Burns, who spent more than four decades as an educator in Missouri. After retirement, he undertook the task of researching and writing a history of his hometown. The result is Voices from Bunker and Extended Communities, which documents the history and colorful stories of the small Ozarks community.

Also on the program will be Renee Jean, assistant managing editor of St. Francois County’s Daily Journal newspaper, who will recap newsworthy events of the past month in Parkland.

This week’s “Going Public” is hosted by Tom Harte, Chris Schnell and Jacob McCleland. The program airs every Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. on 90.9 FM, KRCU, and 88.9 FM, KSEF.
