Incoming Theatre and Dance Students Invited to Audition for Scholarships

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 9, 2012 – Prospective Southeast Missouri State University students interested in majoring in theatre and dance are invited to audition for scholarships at a Scholarship Day Feb. 25.

The auditions will begin at 9 a.m. in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre and the River Campus dance studio at Southeast’s River Campus. The audition is free and open to all high school seniors and transfer students.

Those auditioning must perform a prepared audition or present a design portfolio. The prepared auditions for acting and musical theatre should consist of two contrasting pieces: two songs, two monologues, or one song and one monologue. Each piece should be about 60 seconds in length. The dance students must present a one-minute dance solo showcasing their technique and performance abilities.
