CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 22, 2004 — International Business Programs at Southeast Missouri State University are sponsoring an International Business Reunion with a reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 as a part of Homecoming festivities at Southeast.
The free reception will be held in Room 246 of Robert A. Dempster Hall.
Dr. Peter Gordon, director of International Business Programs, said the reception is open to anyone who has participated in the Harrison College of Business’ study abroad programs and to foreign exchange students who have studied at Southeast, as well as International Business alumni.
Gordon says he has led study abroad trips to Europe and Latin America since 1988 and, over the years, they have visited nearly 30 foreign countries. Next year, Gordon will lead participants on trips to Italy, Greece, London, Paris, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
He says this is the first time International Business Programs have sponsored an event during Homecoming weekend. Gordon says the reception is the precursor to an electronic newsletter the program plans to launch later this fall to keep former participants in study abroad trips abreast of International Business Programs at Southeast. If there is interest in the newsletter and the reception, Gordon says he hopes to build a group of alumni with international business interests. Eventually, the program may sponsor reunion trips to Europe for past participants, he said.
