Jackson Student Named to Board of Regents

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

July 2, 2007 – Leni Fluegge, a Southeast Missouri State University junior from Jackson, Mo., has been named the student representative to the Board of Regents.

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointment. She replaces Christopher Davis of St. Louis whose term on the Board has expired. Fluegge’s term on the Board will run through Jan. 1, 2008.

Fluegge is pursuing a degree in business administration with a major in accounting. She is a member of the Accounting and Finance Club, a Presidential Ambassador and a Student Government senator. She has been parliamentarian of Phi Beta Lambda and co-chairperson of the Spirit and Special Events Committee of the Student Alumni Association.

She was named to the Donald L. Harrison College of Business Dean’s List for academic achievement for spring and fall 2006. She was named an outstanding member of Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) and received the Business Achievement Award, both in 2005.

Fluegge is currently a student office assistant in the Office of the Assistant to the President for Equity and Diversity Issues at Southeast. She is also an administrative assistant at Prestige Enterprises, LLC, in Cape Girardeau.

Fluegge is a graduate of Jackson High School where she was active with FBLA and president of the National Honor Society.
