Jenkins Resigns as HHS Dean; McAllister Serving as Acting HHS Dean

Dr. Morris Jenkins, dean of the College of Health and Human Services (HHS), recently resigned as Dean and will return to the faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology. He is currently on leave until July 31, after which he will return to a faculty position effective Aug. 1.

Dr. Chuck McAllister will serve as Acting Dean of the College of Health and Human Services effective immediately and until an Interim Dean is named sometime after Aug. 1.  Discussion of next steps for college leadership will begin during the fall semester.

“On behalf of the College of Health and Human Services, along with Southeast Missouri State University, I want to express appreciation for the leadership contributions and positive impacts Dean Jenkins provided over the past four years,” said Dr. Karl Kunkel, Southeast provost. “I look forward to his future accomplishments as a teacher, scholar and faculty member in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology.”
