CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Jan. 16, 2007 – Kappa Delta Pi has awarded the Alpha Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at Southeast Missouri State University a $200 Reading is Fun grant.
Funds from the “Dream Big!” grant will be used for the chapter’s spring service project in which it invites kindergarteners from the Cape Girardeau School District to visit the Southeast campus in April. The field trip is designed to encourage children early to set the goal of getting a college education. The grant will be used to purchase children’s books so each child will receive a new book during their campus visit.
The grant application was written by Dr. Julie Ray, chapter co-counselor.
