CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 28, 2014 – Southeast Missouri State University students will feature their pieces in the final dance performance of the school year, the Theatre and Dance Second Stage Series event, “Last Chance to Dance,” at 7:30 p.m. on May 11-12 in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast’s River Campus.
Performances will include a variety of styles from hip-hop to contemporary to ballet and jazz and will keep the audience engaged and invigorated from start to finish. Students have the option to choreograph solos, duets, trios or large groups for “Last Chance to Dance.”
Developing a piece for “Last Chance to Dance” allows students to opportunity to create without the formality of an audition. Students choreograph the work, dance in the pieces presented, as well as produce and manage the performances. Students are also responsible for organizing their own rehearsals, and are required to attend a dress rehearsal prior to each performance.
Students from all majors are welcome to perform, although the event is designed for theatre and dance majors.
The event is free and open to the public. Some performances may contain adult content.
