CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 22, 2014 – The Ariel Lavery: Solo Exhibition will be on display beginning Oct. 6 in the River Campus Art Gallery of Southeast Missouri State University.

The event will be on display through Oct. 23. An artist talk is scheduled from 4-5 p.m. Oct. 3. A reception will follow from 5-7 p.m.

This solo exhibition features the work of Ariel Lavery of Murray, KY. The installation consists of sculptures, sound and projected imagery related to live estate auctions.

“Ariel Lavery’s exhibition is a site-specific installation based on estate auction experiences in the midwest,” said Kristin Powers Nowlin. “We haven’t had an installation exhibit in the gallery for a few years, so we are excited to have her create one just to fit our gallery space.”

The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.

River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Gallery Coordinator Kristin Powers Nowlin at rcgallerycoordinator@semo.edu or (573) 651-5901.
