‘Malcolm McCrae: Transition Spaces 12.2’ to be Displayed in Crisp Museum

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 21, 2012 – “Malcolm McCrae: Transition Spaces 12.2,” an exhibition of airbrush paintings, will be on display beginning Sept. 4 in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The public is invited to attend an opening reception from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 7 with an artist’s talk scheduled for 5 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Oct. 21.

McCrae is a mixed media artist who specializes in airbrushing. Many of his pieces feature jazz and rap musicians. McCrae said he finds it most important in his work to create and inspire. He primarily works with young artists.

McCrae moved from Milwaukee to southeast Missouri three years ago to pursue entrepreneurship. He now owns an airbrushing studio in Sikeston, Mo.

The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, located at 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
