WHAT: 

A signing ceremony in which Southeast Missouri State University and area school superintendents will declare their intent to offer the MAP Achievement Scholarship at Southeast Missouri State beginning in fall 2006.

Dobbins, president of Southeast Missouri State University — Andy Arbeitman, superintendent of the Twin Rivers R-10 School District BACKGROUND:  The scholarship will recognize the academic accomplishments of Missouri students who perform well on the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) examination. The new program is designed to assist students with college costs and encourage them to take seriously the MAP exam and similar testing required by the federal “No Child Left Behind” initiative. The scholarship will be awarded to students graduating from a Missouri public high school who meet the scholarships criteria and who plan on attending Southeast the following fall semester.
