Music Academy Offering Adult Beginning Piano Class

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Sept. 6, 2007 – The Southeast Missouri Music Academy is offering an Adult Beginning Piano Class beginning Sept. 17 at Southeast Missouri State University’s new River Campus.

If you are a beginner or wish to brush up on beginning skills learned in the past, this class is for you, said Becky Fulgham, director of the Music Academy.

Instruction begins at “square one,” she said, and is taught in a light, relaxed atmosphere.  Skills covered include note and rhythm identification, proper hand position, basic chord structure and ensemble playing.

Students must be at least 18 years old and have access to a piano on a daily basis. The eight-week course meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and is taught by Shannon Dobsch.
