Nov. 8 Athenaeum Program: ‘Soaring to New Heights with Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program’

Dr. Jim Peterson, assistant professor in the Department of Polytechnic Studies, will present “Soaring to New Heights with the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program” at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Sadie’s Place in Kent Library.

Peterson will discuss the University’s new unmanned aircraft systems program. What is this program? How did it materialize? Why does it fit into the Department of Polytechnic Studies? How is it implemented? Who is this “Drone Dood?” What are we chasing? And how can we all work together?

The presentation will also address this new and growing field and its value to law enforcement, agriculture, videography, surveying and many other areas.

The event is free and open to the public.
