CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 10, 2014 – OnlineU.org has ranked Southeast Missouri State University’s online MBA program as the ninth most affordable online MBA program nationally.
The list displays the 25 most affordable schools offering online MBA degrees. The schools included range in annual tuition from $3,912 to $17,404. Annual tuition for Southeast’s MBA program is listed at $8,341.
The recognition follows an announcement from GetEducated.com in February that ranked Southeast’s online MBA program first in affordability among online MBA programs accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). GetEducated.com ranks online universities for cost, quality and credibility. This was the second time Southeast’s online MBa program was ranked first in affordability by GetEducated.com.
“I am pleased with this external validation of what is a high priority for the Harrison College of Business — offering affordable high quality online programs, including the online MBA program, the online Master of Science in Organizational Management program and the online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program,” said Dr. Gerald McDougall, dean of Southeast’s Donald L. Harrison College of Business. “These programs are taught by our regular faculty with standards and expectations equivalent to our business programs offered through a traditional format. Harrison business faculty members are committed to excellence and student learning. The national ranking by OnlineU.org speaks to our success in achieving this goal.”
Southeast’s online MBA program offers options in general management, entrepreneurship and sport management.
“The option to earn a degree online benefits those whose schedules, location or time restraints would otherwise prevent them from coming to campus to earn a degree,” said Dr. Kenneth Heischmidt, director of graduate programs in Southeast’s Harrison College of Business. “This option is ideal for people who need flexibility because of their personal or professional circumstances.”
Students earning their degrees online experience the same academic curriculum taught by the same professors as on-campus students. Interaction with classmates and faculty is supported electronically through e-mail, chat rooms, forums, bulletin boards and drop boxes. Evaluation methods are online as well, and course materials are available either online or can be ordered online, meaning students can earn their degree from Southeast without ever setting foot on campus.
Online MBA students also can gain real-world experience through applied research projects. Students who don’t have undergraduate degrees in business but want to earn their MBA degree can take the required foundation courses online as well.
Southeast’s MBA Program in the Donald L. Harrison College of Business is accredited by both AACSB and the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS). The MBA program’s sport management option also holds the Commission of Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).
According to OnlineU, there are dozens of schools offering MBA programs online, but some of these distance education options cost as much as $42,000 per year. Sam Houston State University Online is ranked first for the most affordable online MBA degree program at $3,912 annually.
