CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Oct. 28, 2005 – Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Music is proud to announce its first Percussion Ensemble concert of the 2005-2006 season, which will take place at 8 p.m. Nov. 14 in the University Center Ballroom.
The Southeast Percussion Ensemble is now under the direction of Shane Mizicko, a new faculty member in the Department of Music this year. Both a percussionist and a composer, Mizicko specializes in contemporary chamber music and brings a unique flair to this already dynamic and very popular ensemble.
The program slated for Nov. 14 includes “Sonatina” by Fisher Tull, “Song for the Mountain Stream” by Chien-hui Hung, “Danse” by Claude Debussy, as well as compositions by Bob Becker, Elliot Del Borgo and Alan Keown.
