Percussion Ensemble to Perform Alongside Dance Ensemble in Concert Oct. 10

The Southeast Dance Ensemble will perform alongside Southeast’s Percussion Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,

Sept. 26, 2006 – The Southeast Dance Ensemble will perform alongside Southeast’s Percussion Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

The ensembles will perform “Subterfuge” by Billy Madison, “Ostinato-A-Koto” by Troy Breaux and “Past Midnight” by Tom Gauger. In addition to these, the dance ensemble will perform original choreography by ensemble director Hilary Peterson to Steve Reich’s “Clapping Music.”

The Southeast Missouri State Dance Ensemble is an undergraduate dance company that performs various forms, styles and eras of dance repertoire encompassing both traditional and contemporary movement. Led by Hilary Peterson, the ensemble tours and performs through Southeast Missouri at area and collegiate festivals, schools, community centers and special events.

The Southeast Missouri State Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Shane Mizicko, rehearses twice a week and performs at least one full concert each semester. Theensemble prides itself in performing a wide variety of repertoire representing many eras, styles and composers.
