Play to Depict Story of George Washington Carver

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 26, 2007 — “Listening to the Still, Small Voice, The Story of George Washington Carver,” a play by Paxton Williams, will be performed Feb. 1 at Southeast Missouri State University.

Appropriate for all ages, the play by scholar Paxton Williams is a “first-person representation” of the humble American genius, George Washington Carver. The play tells his life story, from slavery to becoming one of the country’s most brilliant scientists.

The play will be performed from 7 to 8 p.m. in Academic Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
