The performance of Edgecombe’s choreography “Incandescence” will spotlight Southeast students in the Department of Theatre and Dance.
The fourth annual festival, which takes place May 26-28 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center in St. Louis, will feature 30 different dance companies, including pH eXchange Dance Theater. Their dance, “Incandescence,” will be performed at Lee Theatre Saturday, May 28.
“I think this is a great opportunity not only for Philip and I but also for our students!” Peterson said.
Edgecombe created “Incandescence” in 2009, but pH eXchange Dance Theater did not submit the piece until July 2010. The dance, which uses unique lighting techniques manipulated by the dancers, was selected by a panel of professional dancers and critics. “Incandescence” was the third juried show Edgecombe had selected in 2010, while Peterson had two selected, which is the most in the history of the Southeast Department of Theatre and Dance.
